Children Just Like Me, Colombia
A few out takes for the shoot for Dorling Kindersley. Thanks to Miguel and the Martinez-Dickson family for a very entertaining afternoon!
Street musicians of Mexico City
Dogs of Mexico City
It's not often I get commissioned to take shots of dogs, this is the sort of stuff I do anyway. So when I found it mentioned on the brief from Sunday Times Travel I went a bit nuts.. these are the result of a whole morning stopping people with dogs in Mexico City and telling them they'll apprear in a British Magazine.
Mexico portraits
A few modern day cowboys from the Yucatán Peninsula.
Community Tours Sian Ka'an
Special thanks to Gilberto at siankaantours.org for a fantastic afternoon, shot for Nat Geo Traveller. Floating down a mile of Mayan irrigation canals was one of the most impressive things I've ever done.
Rio Lagartos #2
And thanks to Alessio from Rio Lagartos Adventures Eco Tours for his boat handling skills.

Children Just Like Me, Mexico City
A few out-takes from the DK shoot in Mexico city. It was a pleasure to meet the Herrera family!
Yucatan salt mine
We passed a few of these, salt is dried in the sun and then harvested from 100s of acres of open mines to be processed for exportation to the US and Europe. There are various varieties of purity from the stuff we put on the roads to the salt we eat. Mountains of salt wait to be loaded into the plant by JCB, via a long conveyor on wheels, where workers in hard-hats load it into sacks. The salt seemed to get everywhere, stung my eyes and encrusted my camera in a layer of white which can't have done it any good. Sunglasses are mandatory for all employees.

Rex & Fawn
I ran into Rex in a carpark in Montana. He's a Native and used to be a biker but now prefers the relative comfort of his cut-down VW. That's Fawn his Chihuahua.
Ohio for DK
Some out-takes from the shoot in Ohio for the DK book of Lili and family. Thanks to all for a great day! Tara, Lili's mum, pictured bottom right, is a teacher at the local school and invited us to give a class in photography to a group of 16-18 year olds which was a new one for me.
Amish country
A day and night free in Intercourse, Ohio, before the shoot there on the Marteney farm for DK. Sunday is a day of rest for the Amish community and they made the most of it, making house visits and playing games.
The following Monday I picked up an Amish hitch-hiker, on his way to work at 6.30am. He sat next to me in a crumpled black suit and straw hat with his wooden lunchbox on his lap while I grilled him about Amish culture. Poor guy probably wished he'd walked. His name was Abe and he worked at the General Store.
Afternoon on the shooting range
During some downtime from the DK shoot in Montana I had the chance to spend a few hours at the shooting range courtesy of my friend Raylene. That's me 3rd from top, missing the target completely and causing little puffs of dust at the end of the range.
